About Local Health Today
Local Health Today covers the modern American health-care landscape — telehealth, prescription weight-loss medicine, Medicare options, senior care, and the day-to-day decisions households face.
Local Health Today launched in 2007 as a local health-care guide. The shape of American health care has changed dramatically since: telehealth now reaches every zip code, GLP-1 medicines have rewritten the obesity playbook, Medicare Advantage has consolidated into an aggressively-marketed maze, and the cost of a single emergency visit can wipe out a household. We write for the people navigating this without an insider — the working adult choosing between two telehealth services, the family helping a parent compare Medicare plans, the person trying to understand whether semaglutide is right for them and what the cash-pay options actually cost. We don’t diagnose, we don’t replace a clinician, and we don’t pretend an article can substitute for medical advice. What we do is summarize the options, surface the trade-offs, and link to the providers and tools we’ve vetted. We do accept affiliate relationships with telehealth and health-services platforms; those are disclosed and we only recommend platforms we’d send our own family to.
We've been serving clients since 2007, building a reputation on reliability, clear communication, and results that compound over time.
